We view the personal development of our children as a lifelong process that helps them to assess their life goals and upskill themselves to fulfil their potential. This process starts at school and sets the building blocks for ongoing personal development into adulthood. We strive to offer a curriculum that develops children’s capabilities and potential in line with their needs, that builds human capital, facilitates ongoing education and future employability and enhances children’s quality of life and the realisation of dreams and aspirations. We strive to encourage our children to look forward and focus on ways to be the best that they can be, to increase self-awareness and self-esteem, whilst developing the skills to achieve current and future aspirations.

Personal development involves knowledge, attitudes, skills, relationships and behaviour that can be utilised in and outside the classroom. This involves thinking processes, managing emotions, values and relationships along with a range of life skills that assist children in coping with the challenges of every-day living. It encompasses personal, social and emotional development and is arguably the most important aspect for all children in that without these skills children will struggle to access education in a meaningful way.

An engaging whole school curriculum designed to foster a love of learning and enthusiastic engagement
Our outdoor learning curriculum which has an emphasis on raising children’s awareness of the environment around us, how food is produced, how to live healthily, all to foster a lifelong love of nature and the world around us. We use the farm and forest school provisions to help develop engagement, confidence, self- esteem and personal awareness to have a positive impact on right choices and behaviour which in turn supports accelerated learning.
Our assembly programme which is a planned programme that contributes towards our strong SMSC, PSHE and Citizenship provision whilst also fostering an appreciation of human creativity and achievement and community both local and worldwide through a whole school approach. Our assembly initiative is about empowering our children to want to be educated citizens and to make a positive contribution within our school, local community, nationally and even globally.

Unique programmes of self-development designed in house with a focus on self-awareness and reflection, critical thinking, core values, respect, consent and group identity and entitlement. Fundamentally, this is a programme with the aim of teaching children how to be decent citizens.
Enrichment on Friday afternoons to encourage children to be courageous and try different activities and hobbies beyond what they are confident doing to broaden their creativity and skills.
Therapeutic interventions through THRIVE and play therapy with skilled practitioners to support children to develop healthy emotional reactions to the challenges that life will throw at them.
Speech and language and social understanding programmes designed by a skilled therapist to support children with positive social interaction with each other and within their wider communities.
A range of external personal development qualifications to support children to see value in the process of self-development and awareness.
